Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions form the basis of the contract between our client (customer) and Celebrity Cakes Ltd. These Terms, your order requirements received via the website, social media, or contained in the QUOTATION and then INVOICE, are considered by Celebrity Cakes Ltd. to set out the whole agreement between you and us for the sale of cakes and confections. It is your responsibility to check that our interpretation of your requirements is fully detailed in the INVOICE and that they are complete and accurate, as this is the document we work to when completing your order. All of our products are made especially for you—no stock is carried. Some products are available by mail order, and some are hand-delivered or collected by prior agreement. All Products sold by Celebrity Cakes Ltd. are subject to the following Terms and Conditions.

DEFINITIONS

The “Seller” is Celebrity Cakes Ltd.
The “Client” means the person who buys the goods.
“Goods” are the items to be supplied by Celebrity Cakes Ltd. as detailed on the invoice.

GENERAL

All of our products are bespoke and made to order—no stock is carried. By ordering from Celebrity Cakes Ltd. you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions which may be updated at any time in writing or on the website.

INGREDIENTS & ALLERGENS

All cakes, fillings, and icings may contain or come into contact with soy, dairy, nuts, or other allergens excluding gluten.
All products and our kitchen/studio are entirely gluten-free and managed to be safe for those with coeliac disease. We hold Coeliac UK training/have over 30 years in managing a gluten-free diet and maintain strict gluten-free procedures.

If you have any allergies or intolerances in addition to gluten, you must inform Celebrity Cakes Ltd. before confirming your booking. It is your responsibility to inform your guests. We can offer nut-free cakes for intolerances by prior agreement, but products are not suitable for nut or peanut allergy sufferers as our kitchen handles nuts. Unless agreed in writing, all special dietary products are for intolerances only, not allergies.

All products are best eaten on the celebration day. If an ingredient is out of stock, a suitable substitution will be made without compromising dietary safety.

ORDERS

We prefer at least 14 days’ notice for all orders (longer for wedding cakes and large events), but may accept short notice orders where possible. For orders from a picture or photo, our cakes will always be an interpretation, not a copy, we cannot reproduce the work of another cake designer exactly.

PAYMENT, BOOKING FEES, & SAVE THE DATE

A 25% non-refundable booking fee is required to confirm and hold your date for all orders. The remaining balance is due 5 weeks prior to agreed collection or delivery (as detailed on your invoice).
Orders placed with less than 5 weeks’ notice must be paid in full at the time of order. Orders placed with under 2 weeks’ notice must be paid in full within 24 hours of invoice.

For weddings and dessert tables, a Save the Date reservation is available (£150, or a lower fee if 25% of your total is less than £150). We recommend securing your date early—final design and flavour choices can be confirmed later.

ORDER CANCELLATION, RETURNS & REFUNDS

All Celebrity Cakes products are bespoke, made to order, and perishable. Under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013/2014, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded once work has begun or any custom elements have been sourced (usually within 24 hours for occasion cakes, but sometimes earlier for weddings due to advance prep).

If you need to cancel, please contact us as soon as possible. Cancellations may be considered (minus costs and booking fee) only if no work or preparations have started and if your completion date is more than 7 days away.
For wedding and bespoke orders, cancellation is rarely possible after your booking is confirmed.

Returns/Refunds:

Returns are only accepted if your item arrives incorrect, deeply flawed, or damaged (excluding minor decoration variation or any damage post-delivery/collection).
Should there be a problem, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt and provide clear photos. If we are found at fault, we will offer a repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate. Please note, complaints about quality or condition can only be considered if the cake has been properly stored as per our guidelines and has not been eaten or discarded before assessment. Once your cake has been consumed or not retained for inspection, we cannot process complaints or issue compensation.
Personalised and custom cakes cannot be refunded due to change of mind, incorrect information, or after collection/delivery.

REFUND & POSTPONEMENT POLICY SUMMARY

Booking and save-the-date fees are non-refundable as dates are reserved and other business turned away.
Cancellation charges:
- More than 90 days: booking fee only
- 90 days–1 month: booking fee + 50% of remaining cost
- Less than 1 month: full cost due
If we must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered a suitable alternative or full refund.

DESIGN, ALTERATIONS, & QUOTES

Alterations must be requested in writing at the earliest possible date. Where possible, we will accommodate your requests, but changes may affect cost/time. Significant changes will be discussed and confirmed on a revised invoice.

Quotes are valid for 30 days and do not constitute a booking; bookings depend on our availability at time of payment.

DELIVERY, COLLECTION, & DAMAGES

We offer collection, hand delivery, or postal delivery by prior arrangement.

If collecting, check your cake on handover; signed acceptance is confirmation of satisfactory condition.
Venue/hand deliveries require a signed note on receipt.
For postal deliveries, notify us within 48 hours (with photos) of any damage.
For bespoke orders collected from our studio, once they leave our possession, we are not liable for any damage caused by handling, storage, weather, or event circumstances.

STORAGE & AFTERCARE

Store your cake at room temperature away from heat, direct light, and moisture. Instructions for storage and shelf life will be provided with your order. Do not refrigerate sponges unless advised.

NON-EDIBLE ELEMENTS

Our cakes may contain dowels, wires, straws, or other inedible structural supports as standard practice. These will be clearly indicated upon delivery/collection and must be removed before serving.

CONSULTATIONS & TASTINGS

Consultations are by appointment only. Discovery Video Consultations and Full Design Consultations (usually via Zoom) are available—see our bookings page for current fees and refund policies. Sample tasting boxes are available (see booking documents for details).

CAKE STAND HIRE

Stand hire requires a hiring fee plus refundable security bond. Bond is refunded if stands are returned undamaged within six working days of hire return date.

COMPLAINTS

We hope you’ll love your cake or confections. Should you have a concern about appearance, let us know immediately at delivery/collection: we can often repair or adjust on the spot.
For taste/quality complaints, retain and return as much product as possible within 48 hours for assessment. Our liability is limited to the value of the cake or element in question.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All designs and images remain property of Celebrity Cakes Ltd. Images of your cake/confection may be used for marketing purposes unless you request otherwise in writing.

LEGAL JURISDICTION

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. All parties submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
